STOCCOLMA, 11 NOV - La Protezione civile islandese ha ordinato l'evacuazione di Grindavík - una cittadina di 3.500 abitanti situata sulla penisola di Reykjanes, a circa 60 chilometri da Reykjavik - a causa del rischio di un'eruzione vulcanica legata alle forti scosse di terremoto registrate ieri. Il servizio meteorologico nazionale ha aggiornato le previsioni, non escludendo più la possibilità che in caso di un'eruzione la lava possa colpire la cittadina. Le strade della zona sono state chiuse al traffico e la Laguna Blu, nota attrazione turistica, ha annunciato la chiusura per una settimana. L'Istituto geofisico statunitense (Usgs) riporta sul suo sito che ieri sono state registrate 12 scosse, la più forte delle quali di magnitudo 5.9. Al momento non si segnalano disagi all'aeroporto internazionale di Keflavík, che si trova a 23 chilometri dal centro urbano. (ANSA).
